Full text not available from this repository. (Request a copy)Abstract
This dataset involves measurements of carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide flux from the experimental plots, measured in the dark (so no photosynthesis). A chamber is placed over each plot, and gas samples are removed from the chamber head space over a period of 1-2 hours. The gas samples are analyzed via gas chromatography for [CO2], [N2O], and [CH4]. Concentrations are converted to fluxes using the known volume and area of the chamber, the ideal gas law, and measured air temperature and pressure. Explanatory data are also collected, including soil temperature and soil water content. The data to be deposited includes [CO2], [N2O], and [CH4] concentrations measured on the gas chromatograph air temperature, soil temperature, soil water content, and air pressure conversion of the above to rates of trace gas flux.
